Maura McGuire is a commercial litigator who focuses her practice on representing businesses and individuals in both state and federal court.
Maura represents clients in a in a multitude of industries, with experience in healthcare, municipal, and contract law, business disputes, and qui tam actions. Maura represents small and large businesses, start-ups, municipalities, and individuals in lawsuits as both plaintiffs and defendants. She counsels her clients through all stages of litigation, including drafting complaints and answers, coordinating discovery process, drafting and arguing motions, drafting and arguing appeals, and successfully negotiating favorable outcomes for clients.
Currently, Maura serves on the Board of Directors for the Community Place of Greater Rochester and also serves on the Litigation Council for the Monroe County Bar Association. Maura also volunteers as an attorney coach for the New York State Bar Association High School Mock Trial competition. Maura was selected for inclusion on the 2017-2019 Super Lawyers Upstate New York Rising Stars list. In 2015, Maura was selected as a New York State Bar Association Empire State Counsel® 2015 Pro Bono Honoree.
Maura received her J.D. from George Mason School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude. She also received a B.A. from Binghamton University, where so also graduated magna cum laude. She and her significant other, Justin, live in Brighton with their sheepadoodle Harvey and regularly spend time on Sodus Bay.
