Adam represents companies and individuals in complex commercial and civil disputes at all stages of litigation and in regulatory enforcement and white-collar government investigations. His broad-based commercial litigation experience includes handling cases on behalf of both domestic and international clients in a wide array of business disputes, including breach of contract, unfair business practices, misappropriation of trade secrets, and judgment enforcement actions. In the government investigation context, Adam has represented clients in connection with SEC, DOJ, and state attorney general investigations.
Adam also specializes in pre-litigation dispute resolution. In this capacity, he has counseled clients across a variety of industries in avoiding and/or resolving disputes before they become litigation or a government enforcement action.
A native of Syracuse, New York, Adam received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester, where he majored in political science and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Adam was also a two-time Captain of the Rochester varsity baseball team, and in his senior year he was named by ESPN as a 3rd Team Academic All-American. Prior to law school, Adam worked for a year as a case assistant in the Washington, DC office of Arnold & Porter, and then spent eight months working in New Zealand and traveling across Southeast Asia.
Adam attended The George Washington University Law School, where he graduated in With Honors in 2010. While at George Washington, Adam was a Member of the Federal Circuit Bar Journal, the Moot Court and Mock Trial Boards, and was selected as a Dean’s Fellow to teach legal research and writing to first year law students. Adam was also a Thurgood Marshall Scholar, and won the prestigious school-wide Van Vleck Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition. Additionally, as a third year law student, Adam interned at the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, Fraud and Public Corruption Section.
Prior to joining Morgenstern DeVoesick PLLC, Adam worked for seven years as a litigation associate in the New York City office of Paul Hastings LLP and for a year and a half at the Rochester office of Harter Secrest & Emery LLP.
As a graduate of the Syracuse City School District, Adam has taken an active role in issues surrounding urban education. In 2016, Adam was awarded the Paul Hastings LLP firm-wide Strategic Initiative Award for commitment to and excellence in pro bono services related to his extensive work with two New York City public schools. Adam hopes to continue working on urban education issues in Rochester, including through his participation in organizations such as Teen Empowerment. Adam lives in Pittsford with his wife, Stephanie, and daughter, Sloane, where they spend their free time with friends, traveling, watching Syracuse (or University of Florida) sports, and finding ways to get Sloane out of the house.
