Serena Compitello is a transactional attorney who concentrates her practice in the areas of real estate, business and corporate law and estate planning and administration. She has extensive experience representing clients in residential real estate transactions including contract review and negotiation, preparation of transfer and related documents, and facilitating closings. Serena works proactively with lenders, title insurance companies and counsel to keep transactions moving forward and bring them to closing.
Serena began her career providing estate tax services to corporate executives of Fortune 500 companies and other high net worth individuals. Her experience includes preparing fiduciary income tax returns and determining the proper tax treatment of trusts and other estate planning instruments. Serena also worked as a transactional associate at a business law firm in Albany, New York where she practiced in the area of estate planning and administration and took on most of the firm’s residential real estate work. In addition, Serena advised clients with respect to contract drafting and negotiation, commercial lease agreements, and sales of closely held businesses.
Serena is a cum laude graduate of Albany Law School and St. Bonaventure University. She is a native of Rochester and after several years of practicing in Albany, returned home to practice in the community where she grew up. In February 2017 she was appointed to the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Veterans and is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
